Art, drama, gastronomy and spectacular visuals
…blend into one all-encompassing multisensory experience at the latest addition to Copenhagen’s culinary scene – Alchemist. Alchemist is the brain child of Chef Rasmus Munk, who stirred up a storm already at the first incarnation of Alchemist in 2015 – where a cavalcade of politically charged dishes were served up to 15 diners at a tiny dark and mysterious gastro bar. After two years of construction Munk is finally ready to launch the new, 20 times bigger, Alchemist. With it he aims to push the borders when it comes to the concept of fine dining.

28-year old Head Chef and co-owner of Alchemist Rasmus Munk started his career as a chef in Jutland, Denmark, where his first major career step was taking over as Head Chef at restaurant Tree Top at Munkebjerg hotel in Vejle when he was only 22. After receiving rave reviews and developing his personal cooking style he relocated to Copenhagen in 2015 to open Alchemist at Århusgade in the central part of town. His vision was to challenge the limits of the meal and to serve more than “just” great food. When he started designing the new Alchemist in 2016, his initial visions were accompanied by the dream of building a restaurant able to stimulate all the human senses to create complete sensory dining experiences.
